Regional museum den AST - Expo "Louis Thevenet. A life in colour"
Delve into Hal's past in den AST. Discover the traditions of pilgrimage, the Saint-Veroon march, the colourful carnival and Servais' music. The museum is located in the old malt factory Van Roye, a protected monument and an industrial heritage jewel. Professional guides are on hand to guide groups around the world of malting and Halle's rich history.
In 2024, a special focus is on Louis Thevenet's art collection. Prefer a broader view of Halle's past? That is also possible!

Group Visit Thevenet
For almost half of his active painting career, Thevenet considered Halle his home base. During the Thevenet walk, you will join our guide in his search for the most inspiring spots that influenced the artist. You will also visit the museum den AST, where you can admire his masterpieces. You step both literally and figuratively into Thevenet's world and experience what Halle looked like a century ago. Although the painter died in 1930, he is more topical than ever thanks to this walk.

The Servais Walk
Cellist virtuoso François Servais (1807-1866) traveled throughout Europe and achieved great success. However, he remained faithful to his hometown of Halle. An experienced guide tells about Servais' life and work and takes you to special places from Servais' life, such as the St. Martinus Basilica, the Grand Place, the Handbooghof, and of course the Villa Servais. The guided tour lasts about 2 hours and includes a walk, a visit to Villa Servais, and a drink at Villa Servais.
