The Hendrik Conscience Trail runs from Halle through Dworp to Beersel and has been in existence since 1932. It was inaugurated in 1935 as the first signposted walking trail of the “Vlaamsche Toeristenbond,” themed around the writer Hendrik Conscience and his novel “Eene Verwarde Zaak” (1874). The trail literally follows in the footsteps of Hendrik Conscience, who found inspiration for his novels while walking in the Senne Valley. Although this route is no longer signposted, it still passes by some beautiful spots in the Senne Valley.

You can now explore the trail as an audiovisual walk using the brochure with QR codes or via the Erfgoedapp. This walk is brought to you by the city of Halle and the municipality of Beersel.
